Nearly 50 years ago, Marilyn Hickey responded to God’s call on her life to “cover the earth with His Word” (Isaiah 11:9). At the time, Marilyn couldn’t imagine what that would mean, and how God would send her around the globe teaching the Bible and building bridges with people of all cultures and religious backgrounds, especially Muslims. Over the past several decades, the Lord has continually opened doors of opportunity for Marilyn in 140 countries.
From humble beginnings to the international organization known today as Marilyn Hickey Ministries, Marilyn and Isabell share a calling for bringing people into relationship with Jesus Christ, helping those in need, and taking the gospel to the nations.
2. What does Marilyn Hickey Ministries do?
Marilyn Hickey Ministries is a Bible teaching ministry led by Marilyn Hickey and her granddaughter, Isabell Bowling. They work together to fulfill their mission of “Covering the earth with the Word while connecting every one with the heart of God” as they teach the Bible and minister healing and victory all over the world. They have helped millions of individuals overcome setbacks, receive healing, and reach their full potential in Christ.
Marilyn is also a highly sought after international public speaker. She has taken the message of healing and hope to over 140 countries. Her events have broken records in several countries for the largest public meetings ever held in some of the most hard-to-reach countries. Marilyn has had audiences with government leaders and heads of state all over the world.
Marilyn Hickey Ministries sends a clear message of love, hope, and healing to people around the world through Bible teaching, international healing meetings, group ministry tours, as well as conferences for pastors and leaders. Marilyn has produced nearly 1,500 CD and DVD teaching and more than 110 published books (in 27 languages). Their daily television program, Today with Marilyn & Sarah, is a worldwide program broadcast in every country in the world with a potential audience of 2.2 billion households worldwide.
3. What is Encounter Church and how is it connected to Marilyn Hickey Ministries?
Encounter Church is a non-denominational local church in the Centennial, Colorado area that was founded by Wally and Marilyn Hickey in 1960, known at the time as Full Gospel Chapel. Pastor Wally preached and led worship, while Pastor Marilyn taught Sunday school and home Bible studies.

Dr. Hickey was ordained under Word to the World College, Kenneth Copeland and Oral Roberts and holds various respectable degrees of education:

5. What is Marilyn Hickey’s connection to Muslims and Muslim countries?
Marilyn Hickey Ministries is a bridge builder for people of all cultures and religious backgrounds, including Muslims and Muslim countries.
Because the suffering of mankind from poverty, violence, racism, and deficiency is counteractive to the philosophy of a bridge, Marilyn Hickey Ministries is predominately focused on positively affecting negative circumstances in countries across the globe. At the heart of the organization lies the desire to connect people of all cultures, backgrounds, and religious beliefs with understanding, education, and humanitarian acts in order to benefit mankind.
Marilyn’s passion to share God’s great love and truth often lead them to difficult places, including Muslim nations and lands oppressed by communism, cruel dictators, poverty, disaster, and disease. Marilyn has been working with various political, religious, and ethnic groups in Pakistan for nearly two decades building bridges of friendship and cooperation with all religions and races of the Muslim, Hindu, and Christian faith. Her 2016 trip turned out to be one of the most successful in Marilyn’s 40-plus year history of international ministry when over one million people attended her healing meeting in Pakistan.
6. Is there spiritual and financial oversight for Marilyn Hickey Ministries?
Marilyn Hickey Ministries is governed by an independently controlled Board of Directors who exercise both spiritual and financial oversight. For example, the Board of Directors’ review and approve an annual budget, and monitor monthly performance against the budget. As part of its oversight function, the board annually retains an outside accounting firm to perform an annual independent audit of the ministry financial statements.
7. Is Marilyn Hickey and Isabell Bowling affiliated with a denomination?
Marilyn and Isabell are Christian Bible teachers and are not affiliated with any specific religious denomination. They consider themselves bridge builders to all people, cultures, backgrounds, and religious beliefs.
