Dr. Marilyn Hickey, beloved speaker, Bible teacher, and humanitarian went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the age of 94.
An energetic and optimistic scholar and minister, Marilyn was arguably unparalleled in her quest to bridge the nations in seeking peace with all people groups and cultures. She was a respected interfaith speaker and one of the most sought-after Bible teachers in the world. She ministered in over 140 countries in her mission to “cover the earth with God’s Word” and find common ground for people of different cultures, faiths, and governments. One Christian leader described Marilyn as “a woman of great passion for God and His Word. She has a heart filled with courage in her pursuit of the lost, and this takes her to the darkest places on planet Earth.”
In her autobiography, It’s Not Over Until You Win, Marilyn wrote, “I learned that the real adventures and rewards were with people, and I made them my life’s pursuit.” This pursuit led to significant ministry in Islamic countries; and in 2016, over one million people attended her healing meeting in Karachi, Pakistan. Marilyn has held audiences with government leaders and heads of state all over the world. She was the first woman to join the board of directors for Dr. David Yonggi Cho (founder of the world’s largest congregation, Yoido Full Gospel Church in South Korea). Marilyn also served as President of the Board of Regents for Oral Roberts University for 19 years.
Marilyn taught on radio and television for over 50 years, paving the way for women everywhere to have teaching ministries in the media. Marilyn’s daily television program, currently hosted by her granddaughter Isabell Bowling, has a potential viewing audience of over 2.2 billion households worldwide. These powerful teachings are currently being translated into multiple languages that will reach people around the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ in their native tongue. Marilyn has also authored over 100 books and other publications.
She and her late husband, Wallace, were married over 50 years and had two children and five grandchildren. Marilyn received a Bachelor of Arts in Collective Foreign Languages from the University of Northern Colorado and an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from Oral Roberts University.
In 2015, Marilyn was honored at Oral Roberts University with the prestigious Lifetime Global Achievement Award. In 2019, Marilyn also received an International Lifetime Peace Award from the Grand Imam and President of Pakistan.
In 2021, Marilyn was honored with two awards from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary: The Pillar of Faith Award and the Smith Wigglesworth Award, given on behalf of the entire Assemblies of God fellowship. That same year, she was also given a Lifetime Achievement Award from President Donald Trump.
Though we mourn this loss, her ministry team finds peace in knowing she is now in the presence of the Lord and her international miracle ministry will continue for generations to come. “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:23).
